Let's be clear: What they want is privacy for the monarchs and nobles, and to remove it entirely from the peasants.

Because they want to control the peasants.
They want to control us, entirely.

We never left feudalism, the monarchs and nobles simply changed their titles and fashion, while letting us believe we could become one of them someday.

But we will always remain exploitable and expendable peasants to them.

We cannot wait after them to improve our lives. We must organize to take the power back to the people, where it belongs.

@Em0nM4stodon I agree although I think it has sent me in a different direction as far as solutions from many of the privacy advocates I follow.
Like if the way they've tried to preserve privacy is through (costly in time or money) specialized tools & burner accounts & devices that's just furthering privacy as a privilege. It's like the "look both ways" approach to street safety. It might help in some of the easiest threats, but the threats will get worse and puts the onus on the victims rather than the infrastructure & the operators.

@Em0nM4stodon The real Monarchy is in poverty... it's all the Nazi bourgeoisie. I'm one of the Magna Frisia and we are all poor as dirt under van Oranje rule. We mingled with the Mesopitamian Egyptians and have personal patent DNA... it's IVF.

@Em0nM4stodon Not directly tied to privacy, but overlaps on the "control the crowd" aspects ...

@Em0nM4stodon Privacy should be a human right. Especially not one tied to salary or politics. 25mbs internet access should be universal and equally free. The premise being that only through ensured access to we become harder to control and, by extension more free. A people should never be afraid of their government, the inverse, however, I submit, is quite healthy. This is the Alexandria of our time. They saved knowledge and endured. We have the same task in so far as we can endure and unite

@Em0nM4stodon I think if we'd never left feudalism, they wouldn't have rebelled so hard trying to reinstate it.

We *were* making progress in democracy, despite classism not disappearing. I think they want people to feel like it never changes because it gets people to surrender.

I agree that the upper class never disappeared and that "temporarily embarrassed millionaire" feeling kept people voting against their own interests.

@meganL Good point, but personally I don't think this realization leads to people surrendering, but rather leads to revolt.

When people think some noble might come rescue them, or that they could access this status themselves, they stay passive and wait. Once they realize nothing will improve until there's a peasant revolt, they start to organize. You are right, there have been so many improvements in the past. But all of them came from "peasant revolts," and almost none from a benevolent monarch coming to our rescue.

This is what I would like people to see. The people, the peasants, have much more power than they think they have. But we must stop waiting after the upper classes to magically understand and start to protect us, we must instead start to organize within us, to rescue ourselves.

@Em0nM4stodon Something about how I phrased this contributed to misunderstanding. I was saying that people's feelings that they are "temporarily embarrassed millionaires" is what kept them voting against their own interests and identifying with a class they don't belong to...a class that is the enemy of all other classes.

I wasn't saying people should wait around waiting to be rescued.

However, I am saying that flattening out the difference between feudalism and representative democracies
