Similarly, making a drawing even is about 1h of work, and I rarely ever managed to finish one. Making music basically eats all day. I love both and put in the hours, but clicking the shutter and then doing the rote chores of developing and scanning for some reason gives me actual artistic fulfillment (music does too, but damn is it time consuming).
I don’t know what it is about the immediacy (yet weeks if not months long delay between making the photo and then seeing it printed) of transforming emotion/seeing (because I basically make a photo when something catches my eye/brain in an emotional way) into image works so well and is different from drawing, which to me feels mostly technical.
#llms also push software building into a more emotional/intuitive/artistic realm which I only saw glimpses of before, before they got overshadowed by the intellectual effort and grind software development used to be.
