Thousands of members of an influential religious group have started gathering in Manila for a rally to call for accountability in the Philippine government over a widening corruption scandal. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2025/11/16/asia-pacific/politics/megachurch-protest-philippines-corruption/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #asiapacific #politics #ferdinandmarcosjr #saraduterte #philippines #corruption #manila

Although the rally is labeled as "anti-corruption", it is organized by groups with close ties to the most corrupt actors by using religious "cults" to get loyal masses onto the streets, to deflect from all evidence leading to the actual corrupt, often with ties to the duterte-clan. It's dishonest powerplay to oust Marcos and replace him with vice-president Duterte to stop all investigations. This not anti-corruption, it's the corrupt demonstrating against the truth.
