What's on the other side of those hills? Over the millennia, I'm certain that many people asked that question. And when they walked, or later rode their horses over to that small range of hills, what they found on the other side surely blew their minds.

(South rim of the Meteor Crater in Arizona, 11/3/2025.)

A color landscape photo showing warm late afternoon light on a flat plain of dry grass with a small bush like tree on the right. On the horizon, a bit above center, is a level range of short hills spanning from the left to the right side of the frame. The sky is dim in the fading light and a tinge of light red is on the horizon behind the range of hills.
