@arstechnica I think back to the mid 1970s, when a modest handheld calculator cost between $100 and $400, but could actually be used do something useful.

@arstechnica My last "Steam Machine" was a Zbox Magnus roughly 15 years ago, which also did cost a bit more than €1000. So considering the time and Inflation, I think €1000 now, is still a pretty good price tag. 🙈

@arstechnica As a dad who hasn't purchased /any/ modern game consoles for myself or my kids, buying one that runs Linux is attractive!

OK, but for $1,000? I'd still pass.
