Today I learned that if you’re coughing from post-nasal drip, blowing your nose helps.

I always thought of the front-of-nose and back-of-nose snot as being separate pools. I figured if I could breathe through my nose, and it wasn’t dripping from the front, I didn’t need to blow it. But no, it’s all the same pool. If it’s overflowing in the back, emptying it through the front stops that.

@maco also grab a neti pot, if you can stand it. There's a "neilmed sinus rinse" box that comes with a bottle and 100 pre measured packets for 8 floz of water. My last sinus infection was made so much better through irrigation.

I can't tell you how many gallons of water I've run through my sinuses over the years. It's been a lot. It's gotten to the point now that I bought a water distiller for humidifiers and sinus rinses.

@xabean oh I have one. I even have prescription stuff to add to mine. I went from teeth-aching sinus pain Sunday morning to feeling ok Sunday evening. I think I flat out prevented this becoming a sinus infection.
