Of course this kind of market *should* exist, but aren't there a bunch of lucrative monopoly rate base capex opportunities that it will displace? Will utilities just stand by and let it happen? Is there a reason why they no longer have a choice? #Energy #Electricity

It seems businesses are rushing in to grab this gap in the market. And, naturally later maximise for profit at the cost of the small guy generating. With rivals carefully offering a similar price so as not to drive profits down.
It'd be nice if cooperatives could be formed to do this.

Personally, not entranced with more markets.
I am charmed with the idea of renewables breaking up big cartels. The “it's a scarce commodity and only ‘I’ can provide” needs to be used to educate everyone.

I read markets as an arbitrary game where someone sees an advantage asymmetry and yells you have to play with me!
