@NunavutBirder Insulting or insulating? As a typo-making machine myself, i wonder…
Gah a typo. Second last like should read “And like Frost”
@NunavutBirder You can edit the post to drop in an updated graphic and update the alt, if that helps.
@NunavutBirder Yesterday I buried the raven
That died at the foot of the big cedar
His wing bent the wrong way
Not too deep, the forest will take him
@Flux Beautiful Paul.
Although very different, for some reason I’m reminded of Philip Larkin’s The Mower.
@NunavutBirder There were two other ravens raising a ruckus that morning. They were distressed at their loss.
The mower comes to mind a lot when I'm working my property with big equipment. It happens too often, sometimes from inattention, sometimes by blind bad luck.
@Flux I was caring for an injured Raven in Fort Providence when I lived there. The pen was outside my kitchen window. I’d often catch glimpses of another raven outside the cage but it was very shy.
I’d been feeding the raven kibble because, well they steal it from the dogs so they must like it.
One day I peeked out the window when the other raven was there. The injured raven was passing kibble through the mesh to it, sharing.
