@knapjack - So you joke... but I like doing these kind of projects.
I do like writing and I originally made the writer for myself AND for my kids who like writing and just wanted a device to turn on and write. A digital typewriter. And old school hardware word processor.
But I really like building things for others. For instance, I like making jewelry but I dont wear a lot of jewelry myself.
Like, I eat my own ice cream, sure, but i love the making of it first and foremost and I love seeing others enjoy it.
I get it.
I love taking photographs, but I don't often love the photographs I've taken. At least you're helping others!
@tinker there are way too many people that ought to learn that you just don't need to have a fucking opinion about everything!
@valkyrie - truth... fuck... I made the mistake of reading some of the comments and was like NOPE! This will destroy me! Just leave them to their own corner of the internet and I'll go hang out in my corner and do my thing.
Dang though... something I need to relearn every two weeks it seems.
@tinker good on your for handling it that way. i no longer accept opinions from people who won't listen to mine. some people based their whole existence on being contrarians and it's insufferable. best solution is to never let it in!
@tinker I feel like a pleb because I honestly like Ubuntu as a daily driver. Get made fun of regularly. But isn't that the point of lots of distros and one kernel? Choice?
@Sempf - I use Ubuntu as my daily driver. Because it does what I need it to do.
Getting made fun of by other niche people for the niche you chose is so weird. Very "gnawing off your your own kneecap" sort of thing. Folks who do that must have very tiny friend groups (if they have friends at all)
