With this spate of music artist films...Elvis, Elton, Queen, Winehouse, the Bobs, Springsteen (I suppose there's also Cash, Morrison, Ray Charles - ok I looked it up and there's millions of them) - interesting to ponder who might be next. You know Prince is coming up soon. I note some have been made in the artists lifetime. At the exponential rate films are being turned out I wonder if they'll catch up. We'll start seeing the Ed Sheeran story or 'Styles, The Truth' with a gritty reimagining of One Direction. 'Life on (Bruno) Mars'. Then they start overtaking. The story of a star before they are a star. The music industry falling in step behind the money people at Amazon and Netflix. Then the next industry and then the next. All things now in the wake of streaming. You want a career? You have to have your own film first, decide who you're going to be. Faster and faster. Days cycling moon and sun moon and sun, seasons whipping past. Until Hollywood bends the light of all creation, sucking it all in like the gravity well of a collapsed star. The death of everything not the vast uncaring void of existence but ones and twos on an electronic balance sheet. Death by accounting. All of reality inconsequential in the face of information. Humanity no more important than a noisy tool. We are the leaf blowers. And we blow for nought.
