Hey #crochet friends, do you have any favorite blanket patterns to recommend for an intermediate stitcher? I’ve gotten pretty confident with all of the basic stitches, and I’m wanting to try a bigger project. I’d like it to be soft, warm, and cozy if possible. Send toot!

@brainofdane If you're like me, I often get bored stitching the same stitch for an entire blanket, so I'm a fan of sampler blankets with lots of different stitches like this - https://www.mamainastitch.com/chunky-sampler-blanket-crochet-pattern-wintertide-throw/ or an afghan sampler with a bunch of squares joined together like this - https://tlycblog.com/tunisian-snowy-sampler-blanket-free-tunisian-crochet-pattern/ (doesn't have to be tunisian, but similar idea with a bunch of squares joined together!)

Chunky Sampler Blanket Crochet Pattern - Wintertide Throw – Mama In A Stitch

Find the free pattern for the chunky crocheted "Wintertide Throw" blanket below. It's a beautiful stitch sampler style blanket that works up relatively

@brainofdane this one was fun, I made a big one as a couch blanket https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/beans--bobbles-chevron-afghan

Ravelry

Beans & Bobbles Chevron Afghan pattern by Jeanne Steinhilber

My favorite afghan will always be a chevron style, no matter what stitch is used. I grew up with a chevron afghan draped over the back of the sofa, so to me there is nothing more comforting.

@brainofdane
I made this one as a baby blanket many years ago, but there are also instructions for larger sizes:
