Yeah I tried it! Started an instance with the help of the bonfire devs for a community (and wrote a guide in the process) for how to set it up:

I really enjoyed it. It wasn't fully released then so we were still catching a few stray bugs but it was really nice and I love the direction they're going, very granular and adaptable

@zelf years ago I tried to campaign for Mellemfolk moving off Facebook for communication with the volunteers with limited success. They did do a trial with Slack or Discord eventually. I have no idea what the status is now, though. Haven't been involved the last few years.
@reynir @zelf #MellemfolkeligtSamvirke gave inputs to developing Acter (Matrix-based) - and in the Digital Literacy group we were hoping to move people to there, but Acter no longer has funding to continue 😅
Also despite starting this working group, we're not experiencing much interest from the wider organisation to move digital infrastructure.
Many groups have started using Signal instead of Messenger at least - and some are using @dukop, plus one just started using Mobilizon
