Have we lost peer appreciation? 馃 Not just at #CHI2026 I notice many review-to-reject. All studies have tradeoffs, all papers have limited scope. Sure, reviewing is fast, even with "passing knowledge", if we list what isn't there and conclude it's lacking. But we should review what *has* been done.
Whether you're new or a seasoned reviewer, I highly recommend Ken Hinckley's article on excellence in reviews - and championing papers: https://kenhinckley.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/excellence-in-reviews-mobilehci-2015-web-site.pdf
