My latest update on nextgen Covid vaccines is a whopper, in part thanks to catching up with a new vax tracker:

- Clinical trial results for 2 vaxes

- 3 new clinical trials, incl a phase 2 intranasal vax trial in the US – and a pancoronavirus version of a vaccine that's already been rolled out

- 26 preclinical reports, with more showing prevention of transmission &/or durability

- a shelf-stable mucosal vax

@hildabast THANK YOU SO MUCH for this!!!

I am so grateful that so many researchers out there realize that #CovidIsNotOver - and to you, for tracking it for us! This is wonderful!

@hildabast Thanks for your ongoing work compiling this, sterling effort!

By any slim chance (connections?), might you know which vaccine the ModeRNA facility in Clayton, VIC, Australia is gearing up to produce?

@InarticulateOtter I don't know - and given the financial problems US decisions have caused Moderna, I'd be surprised if all goes as originally planned.

@hildabast @PLOS

What are the chances of a private vax in the UK that's more like the ~£15 of a private flu vax and not the current ~£100 for a private Covid vax?

While we wait for a cheap, pan-Rona, nasal vax that prevents infection.

@hildabast @PLOS Too bad none of them will ever be approved in the US as long as worms for brains is in charge of HHS.

Thank you once again 🙏

Interesting to see the Oxford vaccine repurposed as mucosal (if I understood correctly?), wonder if other injected vaccines might be reworked?

Hope we get something with long term protection from infection and/or long covid soon 🤞
