If you’ve been annoyed (like I have) that the Clipboard history in the new Spotlight in macOS 26 is only 8 hours of. history, go to System Settings → Siri & Search. Scroll almost to the bottom and look for “Clipboard history is available in Spotlight” and you can up it to 7 days (or down to 30 min).

@podfeet I’m wondering, why use the clipboard history in spotlight, if you already have a favorite clipboard manager?
@kevinrj 1) I'm never satisfied, have to try everything new and shiny. What if it's better? 2) I like to know how things work for other people
@podfeet I haven’t even upgraded to Tahoe yet, I just haven’t heard of any feature I think I would like yet. I probably should though.
@podfeet When someone tells me about some new feature or technology that I don’t think I need, I remember your clipboard manager story, and then try to listen to what the person is saying. :)

@podfeet Every OS upgrade, I try to use built-in tools to see if maybe this time, they’ll work for me. I was very happy about clipboard history in Spotlight. It’s a step in the right direction but has a long way to go. I have it a chance, but I’m back to relying on Alfred for that purpose.
