Thank you for your purchase, we will now email you literally every day, somehow, because there is so much news in the world of our shirts that you need a daily briefing

@marcoarment if i wanted to hire one of you guys to help me with a project, how would i do that? I am asking your partners the same thing.
@Timbo69 Sorry, the only person who can hire me is me.
@marcoarment Thankfully Roark has great shirts.
Biz idea: premium daily newsletters for shirt and cup manufacturers – printed on shirts and cups.
@marcoarment From their point of view, emailing every day presumably gets more sales than some more reasonable frequency like once per month (maybe because once per month is easy to miss or ignore?) Yet when you're on the receiving end, once per day is an obvious absurdity. It also sounds like a lot of work...
@marcoarment I complained about this 6 years ago: https://tedohara.net/2019/07/29/i-am-not-your-best-buddy/
@marcoarment Would you like to hear about our shirts:
Twice per day
Once per day
Never
@marcoarment
Do the shirts have AI?
@marcoarment You ordered a replacement belt for your lawn mower from us, therefore we are best friends now.
This is why I never give them my real email address. I use disposable addresses for ordering things.
@marcoarment
I bought *expensive* hiking boots direct from the manufacturer. A week after, they sent me an unsollicited "newsletter" explaining the "exciting destinations" I might want to try, ffs.
@marcoarment i do NOT buy pants every day of the week.
@marcoarment and then five emails following up, begging for a review
@marcoarment ... Thank you for unsubscribing from the daily shirt newsletter. Would you mind spending 20 minutes filling out a short, 50 question survey? If you don't have time that's ok, we'll remind you 10 more times.
@marcoarment You've been unsubscribed.
Please tell us why you've done this to us.
And would you like to subscribe?
@marcoarment Thank you from unsubscribing from our newsletter; we're sorry to see you go. We will honor this request for about six months then start sending you emails again anyway.
