Question for people who are knowledgeable about #videography and #videoediting :

I've got footage shot on an iPhone 16 Pro Max using the BlackMagic camera app, in the Apple ProRes 422 HQ format, using that app's feature in which the camera is vertical but the resulting footage is horizontal.

In nearly every video player (the only exceptions I've found are PotPlayer and the video editor kdenlive's preview window) this footage either freezes after a few seconds (VLC) or plays vertically sideways (MPC) or not at all (basically any other player).

My main hope is to be able to edit this footage in #MagixVegas Pro 14 but it has the problem of playing vertically sideways in that softeware's preview window.

This is all on a Windows 11 laptop (yes, I know, this is a problem for this file format; lessons have been learned and we're at damage control here).

What options might I have, if any? And what are the pros and cons of any given option?

Thank you in advance for any thoughts!!!
