The last maintenance release of the 25.08 series is here!
This update fixes issues with clip pasting in projects using different FPS, subtitle styles, image rendering, and image sequences. It also adds SVG file replacement support and improves disk space checks when archiving

Question for people who are knowledgeable about #videography and #videoediting :
I've got footage shot on an iPhone 16 Pro Max using the BlackMagic camera app, in the Apple ProRes 422 HQ format, using that app's feature in which the camera is vertical but the resulting footage is horizontal.
In nearly every video player (the only exceptions I've found are PotPlayer and the video editor kdenlive's preview window) this footage either freezes after a few seconds (VLC) or plays vertically sideways (MPC) or not at all (basically any other player).
My main hope is to be able to edit this footage in #MagixVegas Pro 14 but it has the problem of playing vertically sideways in that softeware's preview window.
This is all on a Windows 11 laptop (yes, I know, this is a problem for this file format; lessons have been learned and we're at damage control here).
What options might I have, if any? And what are the pros and cons of any given option?
Thank you in advance for any thoughts!!!
#Kdenlive 25.08.2 is out continuing the focus on stability and polish. It fixes issues with effects and transitions, improves clip selection, and resolves crashes related to filter jobs and effects on sequences. This version also comes with updated parameters for frei0r effects and GIF rendering preset.
The Windows package also fixes an annoying short freeze issue affecting the 25.08.1 version.

To all those who are annoyed by the video having the wrong orientation (and I am too): please tell me how to rotate a video on Linux without making a mess (that is: re-encoding, installing obscure software, piping 58932570 terminal commands), and I will absolutely do it next time!
Edit: done, thanks to all the people who replied, and thanks again to @yawnbox
