Thomas Piketty (interviewed in the FT) thinks that there's a real danger that Keir Starmer will destroy the Labour Party even more effectively than François Hollande destroyed the French Socialist party....

as Piketty warns, Labour 'have to move left in terms of economic & fiscal policies because the UK has so many parties on the right already. You cannot compete with the Conservative & Reform parties on the right'!

Sadly advice that will be ignored!

Honestly, that might not be the worst outcome. If Labour, the zombie Tories and Reform Ltd are all splitting the vote on the right, that leaves the Greens able to round up a sizeable majority. I don’t care the name of the party, as long as it has the right ideals.
