I think these numbers are approximately correct for China 2025:
Generation additions
Source TWh
Solar 436
Wind 254
Nuclear 21
Total 711

Demand growth
Growth 684
FF saving 27

So that's about 3-6 coal plants that can be closed (they average 50% capacity)

Clean power deployment is growing faster than electricity demand (even as China electrifies more things) so this should be the start of the FF replacement.

China (actually, I am not sure on the nuclear number, found it hard to find progress figures).

@Tallish_Tom Surprising numbers, in how low they actually are I mean. China is currently on 10,000 TWh electricity in total and growing hard. I think it could easily double before 2050. And they *are* putting in all effort that should make the West jealous. It puts in perspective how long the road before us still is.

@collectifission

True, but the curves are diverging now, so it will accelerate.

Thinking about the graph in: https://about.bnef.com/insights/clean-energy/liebreich-the-pragmatic-climate-reset-part-i/

Not as fast as we want now but faster in the end. No complacency but more hope
