#CreativeCommons makes the argument that #bigtech must 'give back' if they are taking from the Commons. It is reasonable.

But this argument only supports #bigtech in claiming "fair use" for what they use AND RESULTS from #GenAI use. So really, they ARE giving back, in the public domain - even better than #CC.

@tamiel The perfect reductio ad absurdum, showing the invalidity of the CC premise in AI times.

The astute observer (not me!) could have seen that already 20 years ago, with Google claiming rights over the entire Web, in return for good centralized search.

The fact is, the whole copyright as property on which CC is based makes all of this inevitable.
