An old story about time zones:

Back in the 1980s I was explaining to a co-worker about how difficult it was to schedule phone calls to India because they were 12.5 hours ahead of Pacific Time.

Them: You mean 12 hours.

Me: No, it's 12 and a half hours ahead! (13.5 during standard time)

Them: That can't be! Time zones are on the hour!

Me: Nope. In fact, Nepal's time zone is 15 minutes ahead of India.

They wouldn't believe me until I showed them a world map with time zones 🙃
