2025 Enlargement Package shows progress towards EU membership for key enlargement partners

Today, the European Commission adopted its annual Enlargement Package, presenting a comprehensive assessment of the progress made by the enlargement partners over the past twelve months.
A dark blue graphic titled “EU 2025 Enlargement Package” features a diagonal pattern of curved shapes filled with photos of cities and landmarks from EU candidate and potential candidate countries, including scenic coastlines, historic buildings, and monuments. The shapes appear in rows across the centre of the image in blue, white and gradient tones. In the bottom right corner is the EU flag.

@EUCommission Why UK isn't the part of EU anymore? I wonder. Maybe interest.

@EUCommission

Does this

also imply that less states will want to spy on EU officials when they are part of the EU? Maybe the EU should stop #databrokerfiles before expanding - to really offer a safe place.

@EUCommission There is great power in being available as an aspirational goal! At the same time, it's on us to be worth aspiring toward.

@EUCommission could you please focus on stabilising what is there at the moment?

I am all for being friendly with neighbours but this is an overreach and taking on too much at one time.

@EUCommission

»Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Türkiye and Georgia continue their respective paths towards the EU.«

Autocrats and enemies of democracy, like the rulers of #Turkey and #Serbia? Seriously?

@EUCommission why do you talk about 'enlargement' when you mean 'imperialism'?
