@Crissy making pottery, especially coil building without using the wheel. I was taught a coil building method by a Zulu (South African) potter that goes back thousands of years.

My neighbor has a frame drum. He’s of Irish descent and calls it bodhrân. They’re very cool instruments.

@potterybyosa bodhrans are cool and that’s amazing about making coils without the wheel!

Would love to learn more about Zulu art. Loved what you said about your recently hosted virtual class “Crafts connect us with our basic human nature and #clay is free”

Was thinking in this new world of AI, we need to reconnect with playing (hand drums) and working with our hands (clay/
sculpture) to connect us to old ways of healing and creative joy 😊

@Crissy

My ancient practice is following cycles in the night sky. It's a touchstone, it's a measure of the passage of my life at different rhythms.

Daily march of sunrise and sunset

Monthly cycle of the moon

Yearly cycle of the constellations

Synodic and sidereal cycles of the bright planets. My favorite is Jupiter. From our earthly point of view it takes about 12 years for it to make one lap around the ecliptic. I've watched it do over four laps.
