#MamdaniForMayorNYC won the Democratic primary for the mayoralty of #NYC by confounding both the polls and expectations (and therefore, in some sense, history). So he knows better than to take his victory in the mayoral race for granted, no matter what the polls are currently saying, no matter what most pundits now think is obvious.
He knows his campaign and his volunteers cannot take it easy until the polls have closed on election day. He knows, as Bernie Sanders advised, that no matter what the polls say, no matter how good his chances look, he must run as if he's trailing by five points.
