I got a short 3-mile run in today. I’ve been building back up after a second time of pulling my calf muscle. Everything went well, I just have to keep listening to my body because other parts are starting to talk up now, so I don’t want to pull something new. I’ve also been making sure I do adequate warmups and adequate stretching afterwards. My goal is to get back up to 6 mile runs for a 10k race maybe by the new year if not sooner. (I’m only increasing by 10% per week, and that’s if nothing feels off for the week prior.)

Also, I’ve been putting on deet now because of all the mosquitos but then I worry about me sweating and it getting in my eyes or mouth. I guess I can’t win unless I run in a beekeeper’s outfit

Yeah, that’s it. No, it’s not funny or exciting, or interesting some may argue, but I’m glad to still be running. It calms my anxiety and makes me feel better in general.

@LoganFive It's the everyday things that make running life what it is. Small maybe but the body is the theatre where the drama plays out. Asking "will it won't it" about a calf muscle day after day, or step after step, is as much a nail biter as any movie. And it sticks with you in all the other moments of the day as well. So very personal and private the experience, and yet it looms so large
