In a farce of transatlantic subservience, the Netherlands booted a Chinese CEO via a 1952 Cold War law, bowing to US pressure over dishwasher chips. Europe’s “independence” peaked when it traded industrial autonomy for American nodding, triggering Chinese retaliation and European carmakers’ meltdowns. All while leaders hailed the chaos as strategic alignment. If this is sovereignty, no wonder Europe’s a punchline.
