This made me laugh. I hope it brings some joy to your day.

UPDATE…

@momo confirmed suspicions from other folks that AI was used to make this. He shared the original. The version I shared was modified. Someone removed notable hallucinations to fool folks. Like me!

👋🏻 😂

His post about it:

My bad, y’all. I was gonna take it down, but it’s here. It’s still funny. Just know that someone used AI to create it.

A home security camera captures a kangaroo sniffing a life-size skeleton Halloween decoration near an orange bucket on a porch at night. Suddenly the skeleton lifts its arms and laughs. The roo jumps high in the air and backwards. In the background you can see it hopping away down the street.

@markwyner
Also: Yours is a version where most of the other hallucination errors were "conveniently" cut out. Here is the original version where you can see the for example the street light in the far background at the parking lot suddenly move around and appear in front of the kangaroo. Ah and try to read the text on the doormat. It's gibberish.

@momo well, shit. Okay. Whoever created the modified version I shared was definitely intentional about removing clues. Even the mat is close to the crop and more blurry in my version.

Thanks for giving me all of the goods on this. I’ll update my post. I appreciate you, champion.

Kangaroos are, due to their tails and big feet, physically unable to jump backwards. This is AI.

Wild Explained

Can Kangaroos Walk Backwards? (Myth or Fact?) - Wild Explained

Kangaroos are, without a doubt, one of the most athletic creatures in the animal kingdom. Their jumping on the wide-open plains across Australia leaves no one indifferent. Yet, for many people, the question of whether kangaroos can walk in reverse. So, can kangaroos walk backwards? Kangaroos can’t jump or walk backwards because of their big ... Read more

Eye love that you can make out that kangaroo bounding down the sidewalk in the background after it got a fright.

@peturdainn are you sure? I didn’t know this, and nothing about it seemed unlikely to me. If it is AI, I’d love to know so I can take it down.

@markwyner here's one response that convinced me, there's also a bigger version in the thread:
https://social.linux.pizza/@momo/115441323981645464
- the doormat 'words'
- the streetlight on the right is moving
- apparently kangaroos can't jump backwards
