A rise in the terrain which, based on exposed rock face, may mean it鈥檚 all the top of a rocky spine. But that鈥檚 not what we鈥檙e looking at, we鈥檙e marveling at the tree which grew up sprawled across this rock with large roots headed out in at least two directions to balance itself. But even that isn鈥檛 as unusual as what happened to the trunk somewhere along the line many decades ago when it tried to grow, got bent over (tree fell?), then ran into an obstacle or two (more downed trees?) and finally did a complete 360掳 turn back to upright leaving a knotted twist between roots and the main trunk
