The fact that OpenAI can become a for-profit company after tens of billions of dollars have been spent on this “nonprofit” sounds really fishy to me, and sounds like a really bad precedent, suggesting that any nonprofit can be owned by capitalists whenever it becomes financially desirable enough.

I’m curious to see how they pulled this off and how they agreed to divvy up their equity.
