I'm building a Sound Library for Loops, my #ActivityPub video project, to let users add free audio to their videos.
I'm already looking into integrations with #FunkWhale and Bandwagon.
What other sources for free, libre, or public domain (CC-BY, CC0, etc.) music and sound effects should I check out?

@dansup potentially https://www.jamendo.com/ which has been around for a long time and hosts creative commons licensed music. They seem to have some kind of a paid licensing thing these days so it's no longer purely that but you can still see what licenses the music uploaded there has. How about you deliver on your numerous previous promises first?
@dansup@mastodon.social You can find large numbers of free sound files at commons.wikimedia.org. You can select "audio files" in the search results. There are music recordings, single words in many languages, the anthems of every country in the world, And so in.
I am a firm believer in KISS. Aim to get Loops up, stable and gaining traction before adding bells and whistles.
@MichaelBishop I agree, but the Sound Library is part of our NLnet grant milestones that need to be finished before December.

The very lovely Moby has set up a library of free music for creators called mobygratis which probably fits the bill.
