The most insanely frustrating thing about the #ClimateCrisis is how the breakthrough we so clearly need isn’t technological. It’s just a collective willingness, a determination even, to change in ways that would clearly be SO MUCH BETTER than the clear and obvious consequences of NOT changing.

Transitioning off of fossil fuels would reshuffle political power, and several currently powerful factions would lose massive amounts of power.

Putin, the governments of the middle east, and the US republican party are all heavily funded by oil wealth.

Yes it'd make life better for most of us, but for a group of people currently in power they'd suddenly become ordinary peons, and they are willing to burn the world down to stay in power.

So a transition will require kicking some powerful people out of power.
