For nearly a decade, the #JAXA Akatsuki mission has been investigating the bonkers climate of our neighbouring world. But contact has been lost, and our last presence at Venus—the only other Earth-sized world we can visit—has now ended.

Akatsuki leaves behind a legacy of information about this alien twin, from rapidly rotating winds to mountains that carve their signature in the clouds.
