Not in an editorial role, only when working as a collaborator on a multi-author text. In which case it feels like rewriting/redrafting.

@cstross co-authored with more than one other author on many of my books. Writing with @edfelten was great since our styles were somewhat similar and our working patterns were aligned. Writing with Greg Hoglund was much more of a slog and at least 10 times the work. In that case neither base writing nor work patterns were aligned. Writing with John Viega was somewhere in the middle. Solid writing but much different work patterns.
I guess you can discern two variables here...
