Unfortunately, “Deadly Poisonous” mushrooms don’t come with little ☠️ decals. And contrary to some beliefs that they come in bright colors, to warn you of their danger, they can often be white or other drab colors.

But they do have awesome names!

This one has 4 to choose from. Pick your favorite:

Deadly Gallerina
Deadly Skullcaps
Autumn Skullcaps
Funeral Bells

[Galerina marginata]

Closeup of 6 small mushrooms growing out of the side of a sawed hemlock stump. There are rounded at their caps with rusty orange in their center, transitioning to a burnt orange and then to yellow at their margins. Their thin stems are hidden beneath and growing nearly at a 90° angle. The edges look frilly in this photo but this is not a key identifier. Most won’t have frilly edges.
