@torproject "While the intention was to make that backdoor accessible only to authorized groups (like law enforcement), in reality, this is almost never the case."

Add to that that a government can also be a threat, especially in authoritarian countries.

@torproject there are convincing arguments on both sides of this issue. But police cannot be given access to a person’s private thoughts in a free society.

@torproject and if someone thinks that “only the government” will be able to use the back door, I have a bridge for sale.
