What's next
The second TRO (which pauses the deployment of any state's National Guard to Oregon) is still in place for now - though the government soon will ask the district court to dissolve that TRO, given the Ninth Circuit's ruling. We will oppose the government's motion to dissolve the second TRO.

Oregon also joins Judge Graber in urging the full Ninth Circuit to "act swiftly" en banc "to vacate the majority's order before the illegal deployment of troops under false pretenses can occur."

Regardless of what happens next, Oregon DOJ will continue to fight to uphold Oregon's laws and the Constitution.

LAWSUIT UPDATE
RE: NATIONAL GUARD
IN PORTLAND
The Ninth Circuit just granted the federal government's motion to stay (pause) our first Temporary Restraining Order (TRO). Our second TRO remains in place and prevents any deployments, but the government will soon seek to dissolve that TRO - which would allow the president to deploy National Guard troops to Portland.
