i like the british spelling "tonnes" a lot because my brain absolutely refuses to pronounce it correctly

@futurebird i LOVE this i think all the vestigial past tenses like "quench" coming from i believe "quinc" (etymonline has it as "cwincan" https://www.etymonline.com/word/quench) are SO fascinating
