@piccalilli There's an interesting perspective about cookie banners in a side remark in a long blog post (in French) from David Madore:
He claims that systematically adding a cookie banner relies on a maximalist interpretation of the law, and says (perhaps a little cheekily) that he suspects websites to do it on purpose to make the law feel excessive and train consumers to blindly consent to being tracked.
If you adopt that viewpoint, relaxing the law is kind of playing into the hands of those companies...
