many years ago i began archiving original receipts from game/system purchases. these ephemera were almost always thrown out by the owners, so it's a rarity to come across one while out thrifting.
this k-mart receipt from 1989 is for a Nintendo Power Set for $149 CAD in Hamilton Ontario. the white original and pink copy went to the store, and the customer received the yellow copy.
it's hard to imagine a big box store using handwritten receipts as far back as 1989.
