This is the specific type of problem I was trying to avoid. Finder says there’s no stud. WTF
@farah you can use a strong magnet to find the drywall screws in the studs, that’s what I use, fwiw
Stud finders usually let you know when you're over a stud, pipes, or wiring.
Is it possible that your one works in reverse?
Maybe you have an anxious avoidant attachment style stud finder.

Also, studs are usually what you want to support stuff, so I'm not sure why you'd want to avoid them.
What are you trying to do? I was a handyman's helper for five years or so.
@farah your problem is using a hardware store stud finder, you need a gay twink femboy. Point em at the wall and ask them to find the top stud and they'll identify all of them
