Fellow friends from the Nordic countries: Looking for examples of anti-LGBT+ rhetoric in media and politics in Norway, Finland, Sweden, Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland. I have data from Iceland and Denmark, and would like to hear if the topics raised to create hostility or stir "debate" are similar. In Denmark the narratives are centered around: 1) villifying trans women in sports and "womens spaces" 2) Moral panic about gender affirming care for minors

We analyse the danish media coverage of trans women in sports in this episode of our podcast. https://cybernauterne.dk/podcast/konskrigerne-2-det-handler-ikke-om-sport/

The conclusion was that the media disproportionalety focus on individual athletes like Lia Thomas and Laurel Hubbard, while failiing to cover eg. attacks on trans rights in the US, and also that the articles where often extremely inaccurate, full of deadnaming etc.

Another topic that has come increasingly under fire is the pride celebration, where its attacked for being too political or too sexualised. Panic on Drag queens and kids have been imported as a topic, though it gets a lot of mainstream pusback. The topic that gets the most engagement from across the political specctrum is still villifying trans women, like when our former minister of equality attacked self ID laws to "protect women" last year (my analysis here) https://jyllands-posten.dk/debat/kronik/ECE17337761/ibipippi-har-faaet-mine-oejne-op-for-hvor-problematisk-juridisk-koensskifte-er/
