i feel like if you have an entire support matrix predicated on whether your fucked up build process can build your fucked up fork maybe it's time to reconsider your priorities. like why are you owning that internal build in the first place? i need to make sure i've got this right

honestly pretty impressed at a bootstrap script that is actually worse than nothing. at least with nothing you can bring in your own tools

i made the mistake of assuming "pre-built LLVM" would mean you could build the LLVM yourself instead of building it in the rust repo through their fucked up little config format
no, that's the LLVM used to compile the in-tree LLVM
so just first off, calling your llvm fork "not really a fork" and then seeing it has +300,-10_000 commits is one of the shambliest things i've ever seen
