Short version: we need to create our own informational infrastructure for collective management of information and decisionmaking.
A lot of people won't get it, and will insist on seeing everything in partisan terms. While that's not ideal, I think there will be enough people who do care about truth, justice, and What The American Way Really Should Be, Dammit, that we will be able to start collectively pushing things towards a more Star Trek future (aka the exact opposite of what's happening now).
It's already happening to a large extent, with groups like Indivisible, but they're mainly held together by a sense of emergency; we need a self-governance system that's easy to participate in and resists attempts at control.
