Ok wow, apparently someone is charged by their - what? - accounting handling company or something - by the page of invoice processed, so they pay by page of invoice they get.
They want us to make invoices, which currently include a summary, detail, and full call records pages, to just be a summary.
We have many options, including text based invoice.
I am wondering if we should have a "one page pdf" option, given that, well...
It is probably worth explaining a tad more of the irony here.
Some time ago I made the invoicing system create clean A4 paged invoices. And a key factor was the "summary" level.
If you have one specific item or even a few that fitted on one page, done.
If not, then page 1 was a summary, by description, and summary by more and more generality. Ultimately a "goods & services £x" if needed to fit one page.
So page 1 was always the one page legal invoice.
I did a lot to make this work.
But in all of these I never considered the option of "forget the rest of the pages because some arsehole company we use charges per page and we would rather not know details than pay them!" option.
So the "single A4 page at 0.001pt font, zoom as much as you like" and the "PDF page bigger than Germany at normal font size" options, are a serious consideration depending on their T&Cs.
