I have a #book recommendation. Finished this last night and was awake a while after savouring it.
It's hard to pigeonhole but a brilliantly sustained journey through a childhood afternoon. Creepy and funny by turns it is one of those rare works that grapples with dark things through a child's eyes without falling outside of the child narrator's voice. Very skilfully done.
(Disclosure: it's written by someone close to a friend of mine, but I like it enough to tell them this same thing and I'm bad at lying.)
