I'll never understand how some online services think nagging users for having an ad blocker is a good idea. If your business model relies on guilt-tripping people instead of offering real value, your app or service wasn't great to begin with. Everyone should have the right to block the garbage out of their internet - I fully support using ad blockers, because constant tracking, autoplay videos, and noise ruin both the experience and privacy.

I'd happily pay for a clean, ad-free version of any service I find genuinely useful long-term. But shaming me for using a free service while protecting my attention and privacy? That just makes me close the tab. "It's a free service" or "the dev works so hard" aren't winning arguments - they're just moral posturing.

@rolle Worst case is that something essential is tied into a well known tracking doing company, like Salesforce, I block their networks on dns level in my home network and I see basic functionality like contact forms disappear from many websites :D

@rolle plus some websites I go to from the school computer I didn't realize how MANY ads there were everywhere. I've been living in an ad block world and it's truly startling to see how people surf vanilla web.

@rolle I had to use a browser without ad blocking once - and it was awful. The internet is practically unusable without ad blocking these days.
