The most obvious feature of the town was that everyone drove around the way TFG runs the government: on the wrong side of the street, going the wrong way (at full speed) on entry/exit ramps, ignoring stop signs and lights, etc.

...and this was seldom commented on by anyone in the town; it's just how they did things. If there were a lot of accidents, they weren't talked about. It's like they considered a few extra accidents to be a worthwhile price to pay for the freedom to drive however TF they felt like driving.
