There have been quite some developments in LD world since the last updates of the README. The technology suffers from lack of ecosystem support, and it creates a sort of chicken/egg. Good directories help the onboarding.

have been wondering how we could push the "list" concept to the next level. Me thinks it needs a mixture of expert involvement (recognition and growth as main incentives) and automated data collection of repo info to inject current status etc.

On the expert side my motivation was the "R task views" https://github.com/cran-task-views/ctv ans have been trying something like this in the #pythondatascience space https://gitlab.com/openrisk/pythondatascience

There are various ideas regarding Delightful commons initiative. There's a forum section on the Social coding forum..

The thing with larger ideas is that they require collaboration during longer periods of multiple parties within the commons. Something we are very bad at atm in our grassroots environment.

Running communities for these ideas is possible, but volunteer 'commons janitoring' tasks balloon quickly.
