Hamas' response to the Trump deal is not a qualified yes, but a diplomatic no.

I see news media say it's a 'yes, but', because Hamas agrees to release the hostages.

Yet, Trump and Israel don't care about those hostages. They care about control of the land.

Hamas in their reaction make clear that they're not considering giving up Palestinian sovereignty. #Hamas even make it clear they see a role for themselves in setting up a future government in #Gaza. Exactly what Trump and Israel don't want.

I don't think the reaction should be read as an agreement, though it is a concession. It's diplomatically daring, because it's simply ignoring Trump's wagging finger, and instead proposing more talks.
